The wall was knocked out next to the existing upright beam and scaffolding was erected to carry the beam into position with rollers positioned on top.
We had pre warned our neighbour Michel Rossignol that a beam was on its way and would need a hand his precise and skillful driving allowed smooth entry into the barn.
The above operation took 20 minutes from Michel's arrival to departure. Putting the upright in took a little longer to ensure we maximised the headroom on the ground floor and the space upstairs. Marc our "CHEF" who has help us through out the building work relieves his tension with a little jig to celebrate this event which took weeks of planning and discussion and 20 minutes to complete.
